Paid Algotels.com $1500 for a hotel room and never got a refund

I was trying to book a room with Choice hotels and somehow ended up on Algotels.com. I made my reservations there and got what seemed like a real confirmation. Later I had to cancel, so I called the hotel directly. They cancelled it and refunded the credit card on their end, but it was a Master Card. I paid with my VISA.

I found out Algotels had charged my card $1500. I emailed them at [email protected]. They told me they needed to get approval for a reimbursement. I never got my money back. Every time I try to contact them, they just say they'll "update my ticket." Nothing ever happens.
