Tech support scam call after clicking their website for a Garmin update
They took remote access of my computer and started showing me all these trojans and hackers on my system. I told them I have a local guy for my computer stuff. Then they threatened me. They said if I didn't pay them, they'd sell my information on the dark web and take all the money from my bank account. I'm really afraid. They tried to steal all my information from my computer. I ended up losing $1200 to them.
Scammers pretended to be Garmin support and tried to take $79,999 from me
They told me I had a trojan virus stealing my info and they could fix it. They made me buy digital coins online and deposit it into a crypto machine, which I did. Then they said it didn't go through and told me to log into my bank on my computer to check. My screen froze for like five minutes. They were trying to transfer $79,999.00 from my account to Dubai.
I was just numb and didn't get what was happening. Thankfully my grandson came to visit right then and stopped it. These people stole $799 from me already. They should be stopped for scamming innocent people like this.
