Phone call about a loan I never asked for

I got a call from someone named Stephanie Howard saying she was from the underwriting department at American Loans. She said it was Tuesday, May 11th and she was calling about my recent loan inquiry. I never made any loan inquiry.

She said they reevaluated my previous request for up to $58,000 and now I might qualify even if I was declined before or have lower credit. I don't remember applying for anything like that. She said to call back at 844-658-2484 to speak with underwriting because the preapproval was time sensitive.

The caller ID showed (833) 936-4741. I didn't call back because it felt strange. I didn't lose any money but I wanted to report this.
