Instagram ad for New Balance shoes turned out damaged and fake

I saw an ad on Instagram from Arklen for New Balance sneakers on sale so I bought a pair. They came and they're all messed up, white paint all over them and scratched up. I paid $141.01.

I'm trying to return them now, emailing them at [email protected]. They asked me for photos but obviously it's going to look weird that they showed up already damaged. They seem like total junk honestly.

I'm just waiting to hear back from them, not sure what to do next. I found a Reddit thread where other people say it's a scam too.
