Got a strange job offer text and fake interview questions

I got a text message about a job offer. They told me to send my resume, so I emailed it. Then they wanted me to do an online interview, which was just answering a bunch of questions.

The next day, after I sent the answers, they sent me a job offer letter. They wanted me to sign it, date it, and email it back. That's when it started to feel off to me.

I looked up the company online and saw other people saying it was a scam. The email came from [email protected]. The whole thing just didn't make sense for a real job.

Got an emailed check for software from a company I don't know

I got an email from Audeo Oncology about a job. They sent me a check for $1000 to deposit. It was supposed to be for software. The email came from [email protected]. They have a website and an address in San Francisco, 100 Pine Street. The phone number they gave is (773) 557-3792.

This whole thing felt off. I never applied to them. It was just an email out of nowhere with a check to deposit. I didn't lose any money, but it didn't make sense. Why would a company send a check like that? I didn't deposit it. There was no real job, just this strange email about employment.
