Got a fake invoice for a UCC filing I never made
The form says, "The State of California Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) has recently filed a financing statement form in your name. This statement outlines the collateral that will cover the Secured Party if you default." I never filed anything like that. It's not a real bill, it's a fake invoice. The return address on it is 3053 Freeport Blvd. Box 266, Sacramento, CA 95818. The phone number listed is 1(866) 301-2738.
It felt really off. I didn't pay it, but they're trying to trick people into sending money for something that doesn't exist.
Got a letter demanding $98 for a UCC statement I didn't ask for
The letter has the name of a solar loan company I recently opened an account with listed as the "secured party." It came from an address in Sacramento, California.
I did not pay it. The whole thing felt off. I never requested any UCC statement service from them.
