Got a call about my son's SAT materials asking for a deposit

I got a call from someone saying he was Carson Simon from the College Board. The caller ID showed the ACT company's number, 877-789-2925. He knew me and my husband's names, our son's name, our email and home address, even our son's school and his counselor's name.

He said our son needed a fully refundable deposit to get his SAT test materials. He claimed he was working with the school and needed us to confirm our info and give a credit card number. He said it was just a deposit, held until we returned an SD card we'd get. We never got any card. He said instructions would be in an email he was sending, but that never came either.

We paid $249.99. The number on our credit card bill was 844-659-7459, but it's disconnected now.
