Repair shop charged over two hundred dollars for fake diagnostics
So this place, they lure you in with a “free” courtesy inspection. Then they pull a bait and switch and say you need a diagnostics test instead. They bill you at an hourly rate over $200 an hour.
They claim to be qualified to find what’s wrong with your car. But they don’t actually know what the problem is unless your car computer already told them. They just ran the digital test on my old analog vehicle, which is completely useless. Then they gave the car back with no repairs or real diagnosis.
The staff told me to keep bringing it in until they find something. But they’ll just run up hundreds or thousands in diagnostic fees and come up empty handed.
