Rec'd Parcel
I received a pckg from Davve Garzaz (you are popular) with three (3) track outfits all in the same size. It was something I knew I had not ordered and just thought it was one of the business's I deal with on the internet. I've read all your suggestions and I'm going to contact the UPS on this. Txs for your help,
missing item
But there was nothing in the smaller bag. I did not get whatever was supposed to be in the Envelope... I' not even sure what the item was to be. I ordered a chain from Amazon, but it shows to be delivered Tuesday 5/5/26. Davve, if you read this the tracking number was USPS 9202 0784 8866 6843 4400 87. E mail for me is [email protected]
Please contact me.
Dave Gara Package...Very Pleased!
Small package showed up from a name I don’t know
I googled the name and saw a bunch of people saying it’s a scam. Different area in NY but same kind of thing. I didn’t open the package. I felt around it and there’s nothing inside. Just seems weird.
Received two shipments from this sender
Dave Garzaz
Here is the real scam explanation...
What a brushing scam is
A brushing scam happens when a seller (often on large marketplaces like Amazon, eBay, or similar platforms) sends out unsolicited packages to random real addresses. The package can be:
Empty
Contain something very cheap or random
They do this so they can:
Create a “verified purchase” record tied to a real name/address
Post fake positive reviews under that identity to boost their products
Why yours is empty
An empty envelope is actually cheaper and faster for them. The only thing they really need is:
A valid tracking number
Proof of delivery
Once it shows as delivered via United States Postal Service, they can use it to legitimize fake transactions.
About the barcode concern
The claim that the barcode itself is used to extract your personal information is mostly misleading in this context.
A real USPS label barcode typically just encodes tracking information, not your private data in a hackable way.
Scanning it doesn’t expose anything beyond what’s already on the label (name/address).
The scam isn’t about hacking you via the barcode — it’s about abusing your address as a “real customer.”
Why this is happening now
You mentioned others seeing it around late April 2026 — that suggests a coordinated wave, likely from one or more sellers ramping up fake review campaigns.
Are you at risk?
Generally low direct risk, but it does mean:
Your name/address is circulating in some seller databases
It could be tied to fake accounts/reviews without your knowledge
What you should do
Don’t pay anything — you’re not responsible
Don’t scan QR codes or contact info if included (yours didn’t have any, which is typical)
Monitor your accounts (Amazon, etc.) for unfamiliar orders/reviews
Optionally report it to:
United States Postal Inspection Service (they track mail fraud)
If you want to be thorough, check your name/email on breached data sites—but this doesn’t necessarily mean a new breach
What you don’t need to worry about
You’re not being charged
It’s not a sign your identity is actively being stolen (in most cases)
The package itself isn’t a “device” or anything technical — it’s just a prop
I also received empty pkg from DAVVE GARZAZ
empty package
Empty envelope from someone named Davve Garzaz I don’t know
It came from someone named Davve Garzaz at 70 E Hawthorne Ave, Valley Stream, NY 11580. I have no idea who that is or why they sent me an empty envelope. Feels weird.
Unsolicited package with hair binders from someone I don't know
I never ordered anything like this. I don't even know what the point of sending this is. Just weird.
Small package with two hair ties from Valley Stream address I never ordered
I never ordered this. I didn’t buy any hair ties from anyone. The return address is that Valley Stream address. I don’t know what this is about or why they sent it. Feels weird. I didn’t lose any money on it but it still doesn’t make sense.
Strange package for my kid from someone we don't know
Unsolicited package with hair ties from a name I don't know
Inside were just two loose hair ties. That's it. No note or anything. I didn't buy anything from this person or company. Feels really strange getting random stuff sent to me like that. No money lost but still weird.
PHISHING SCAM
A DEFINITE SCAM
BEWARE - SHOULD BE REPORTED TO U.S. POSTAL INSPECTOR!
