Job offer email asked me to order checks from Amazon

I got an email about a remote job offer from www.elettechnologies.com. I went through the interviewing steps they had and sent in my direct deposit info. Then the person on the other end asked me to order checks from Amazon.

That felt strange so I cancelled the order right away and locked my account. Their address is 2301 Blake St., Denver, CO 80205 and the email was [email protected]. I didn't lose any money but it was a weird experience.
