Got a fake check in the mail from a mortgage company

I got this weird envelope in the mail. It was a trifold with tear-off sides. Inside was something made to look like a check from a former mortgage company.

The whole thing was to get me to call their toll-free number. They said it was to claim some kind of allocated waiver. The number is (888) 801-8190.

There's no real return address on it, just says Boca Raton, FL. The whole thing felt off. I didn't call, but it's clearly a scam attempt.
