Charged $50 a month without my permission after one purchase
I only bought something one time from Google. Then they put me on an auto pay every single month. I never gave them permission for that. I tried contacting someone named Lydia using a number I found off Google, but it didn't work. I lost $50.00.

Got scam calls about a fake computer security debt years later
A few years back I got scammed over computer security. They called me and I let them access my computer. I made a payment through a phone photo. I realized it was a scam and they stopped contacting me.
Now as of March 24, 2026, I've gotten four calls saying I owe $9000 for services I never got. They're threatening me. I know getting scammed in the first place was my fault. But now they're coming back and it's just harassment.

Got a weird text telling me to call the Apple Store
I got a message telling me to call the Apple Store at (833) 295-8542. I called and someone answered saying "Microsoft." That felt off right away. I told him about the text I received, and he put me on hold. The same person came back on the phone and said they were Apple Security. He said they would look into it, but only if I gave them more information. I just told him I don't even have an Apple account. He hung up on me immediately. The whole thing was strange and seemed like a scam.

Got a weird call from my bank's supposed after-hours line
I called this number because I was having a problem with my debit card. The person who answered said they were my credit union's after-hours service for when call volume is high, and that they needed to transfer me.
Then it went to an automated system. It started asking for my name, my card number, the CVV, my date of birth, my PIN, and the last four of my Social Security. I didn't give all that info. I hung up. It just didn't seem like the kind of stuff my actual bank would ask for, especially my PIN. That felt off.
I'm reporting it to my real credit union.

Seller on Facebook Marketplace posting unsafe cars and blocking people
I saw this person on Facebook Marketplace trying to sell cars. The cars aren't even safe to be on the road. When I tried to bring this to his attention, he just blocked me. He uses different phone numbers so you can't contact him again.
I think it's really unprofessional to sell a car that isn't safe to drive. It's not just selling something "as is" when the vehicle is dangerous. Somebody could get seriously hurt or worse because of what he's doing. He posts these false descriptions of the items. It's wrong.

Random charges after ordering toys from a site that disappeared
I ordered a one-time purchase of two toys around Christmas from a site I found. The toys actually showed up, which was the weird part. Then a month later, I see a random charge on my card for $24.97. I had my credit card number changed because of it.
But then the next month, it happened again with the new card number. The whole thing felt off from the start. I should have known better—the website totally disappeared the moment I made that first purchase. There's nothing to contact, no way to stop it.
