Website says I qualify for help but it just sends me to a fake loan page
Then after that the calls and texts and emails just would not stop. Nonstop all day. I never got any help from them at all. They just kept contacting me over and over.
I think they are pretending to be the real helping hands group but they are not. Their phone number is (866) 455-0399 and the email is [email protected]. I did not lose any money but it still felt really wrong.
Texts from a number I got after calling 211 for help
Then to actually get the benefits you have to buy cell phone games and things like that. It's obviously a scam. They've been calling me for the last six months and texting me. I call them back sometimes. They're clearly in the Philippines and when you ask to talk to a supervisor they just hang up. I lost about $4.99 to them. Their website is helpinghandsact.com and the number is (844) 674-2926.
They gave me an account number and said I'd be approved in 1 to 2 hours
As soon as I saw the confirmation number wasn't matching with the one in the email, I asked them if this was a scam. They asked me if I needed help lowering all my bills as well. Their website is Helpinghandsact.com and email is [email protected]. I didn't lose any money but it just felt off.
Guy on the phone asked for my personal info about free healthcare
Then he got someone else on the line. That guy also asked for personal info. Asked me to agree to giving them access to my insurance info over the phone. I didn't give anything. Their website is programs.helpinghandsact.com and email is [email protected]. Address they gave is 237 A Street #28313, San Diego, CA 92101.
Getting pushy texts and emails about a payday loan instead of help
They've been hounding me with emails and these really pushy text messages. I knew it was a scam as soon as I clicked a link and it went to a payday loan site. A real government agency would never tell you to do that.
They're taking advantage of people who are just looking for legitimate help, like social services or food pantries. This fake assistance company needs to be stopped.
Got a "congratulations" email but no help, just a push for school
So I called the number on the site, (844) 703-2745. The person I talked to said I was eligible for benefits and then connected me to someone named Erica Ferguson at South University. She said she was a financial advisor and tried to get me to enroll, saying a bachelor's program would be $92,000. I said no and hung up.
After the call, I got a text from Helping Hands saying I was approved for benefits again. But I never got any confirmation about the housing benefits I was actually asking about in the first place. Nothing came of it.
Got a message about grants and assistance, now my info is stolen
They kept telling me I could get this money and that help. I listened to them. It was a big mistake.
They stole all my personal information. Everything. Don't do it. They took it all.
Signed up for financial help and just got spammed with loan links
I did sign up with one of the loan places they sent, TogetherLoans. They said I was approved for $3,000 but then said I needed a cosigner. I looked them up later and found out they've had a lot of reports. People say they steal money and you can't talk to an actual person, just automated systems. The whole thing was a waste of time.
