Got a fake home warranty letter, then an aggressive phone call

I got a letter in the mail saying my home warranty lapsed. It was from something called Home Warranty or Vicky Mercer. There was no company address or email on it anywhere. The letter just said to contact Vicky Mercer at 1-888-404-4504.

So I called the number. I asked the man who answered where his business was located. He got very aggressive right away. He started saying I was making a crank call.

It's clearly a scam. The whole thing felt off from the start.
