Job offer on Indeed sent a fake check for airline tickets

I got an email through Indeed from someone who had my resume. They offered me a job. Then they sent me a check for 3,450.00 from something called Elite Pet Nutrition.

I called that company and they told me it was a scam. The person wanted me to deposit the check and then buy airline tickets with the money. I did not do it but I know some people probably fell for it.

I told Indeed about it but they said it is hard to verify these things. The email came from [email protected].
