Paid $1500 for a jazz band through jazz-info.com and got nothing

I got contacted by this guy "Carter" from jazz-info.com about a jazz band inquiry we made online. The communication was sketchy from the start. He said his dad died and he couldn't make a call. Told me he had houses in Minneapolis, Florida, and Brookfield, WI. It all seemed great. He said all his reviews were "legit" and that they just did a concert in Vegas for Bitcoin.

He asked me to sign a contract and submit payment info on his website, https://www.jazz-info.com, which looked sketchy itself. So I paid by check. I lost $1500. We exchanged messages where he said he thought our check bounced. It wasn't my check. He shared screenshots via text from Bluevine Checking. I tried multiple times to get a copy of the signed contract but never got a response back. His email is [email protected]. He changed his phone number and now I can't reach Carter at all. Now I'm just out $1500.
