Got a job offer from Kura Oncology, then they stopped replying after sending a check

I got a job offer from what said it was the Kura Oncology Recruitment Team. They used the email [email protected] and their site is kuraoncologyjob.com. Everything seemed okay at first.

They said they were going to send me a PDF check for some reason. I didn't even cash it or anything. But right after that, they just cut off all communication. No more emails, nothing. It just feels off. I never lost any money, but the whole thing doesn't make sense. Why offer a job and then just disappear?
