Got a fake check in the mail about my mortgage

I got this thing in the mail that looks like a check for $199.00. It says it's an "allocated waiver" from Loan Services, phone number (888) 801-8190. The letter says it's an important matter about my property address and that it's secured by my lender, Mr. Cooper.
But then in the small print at the bottom, it says this is not a check and it's not affiliated with Mr. Cooper. So which is it? It feels really misleading. They're using my lender's name to get my attention, but then they say they're not connected. I didn't lose any money, but the whole thing just seems off.
