Paid $750 for a puppy I never got, then they ghosted me

I found this website Melinda Dach Puppy Paws that seemed legit. I was emailing back and forth with someone named Melinda for a while. She sent me photos and videos of a puppy over email.

I took a leap of faith and sent $750 using Apple Pay to a phone number they gave me, (202) 277-3076. They gave me a tracking number for the dog after that. Then they tried to get more money from me, saying the crate was wrong for the flight.

I tried to get a refund but they just went ghost. They stopped replying to emails. Since it was a person-to-person Apple Pay payment, I couldn't get my money back. I never got the dog. I'm out $750 and just heartbroken over this whole thing.
