Facebook puppy ad asked for deposit, then caller yelled at me

I saw an ad on Facebook for a puppy being rehomed. The page was called Michael Dean’s miniature Dachshunds for Adoption. They said the puppy was $600 and wanted a $400 deposit sent through Cash App to someone named Alexis Anais Sanford. That didn’t match the breeder name at all.

They told me they needed my personal info to send a contract. They said they were in Charlotte, NC. But the Facebook page manager is listed in Cameroon, and when they called me, it was from a Georgia number. The email was [email protected].

When I got suspicious, the person said he was 72 with kids and grandkids and had been doing this since 2015. But the website he mentioned only went to 2025. He kept messaging me until 11pm. When I stopped answering, he called my phone the next morning yelling.
