Got a message about my car from someone pretending to be the DMV
I called the number, 1-888-965-2394. It's really not from the DMV at all. It's someone pretending.
Got a fake check in the mail about my car
There was a check attached for $199.00. But in the fine print at the bottom of the check, it actually says it's not a check. It says the waiver can be redeemed by activating new coverage and that they're not affiliated with my dealership. The whole thing felt off. It looks official but that fine print gives it away.
Got a weird notice about my car and a waiver for $199
It says they want to speak with me about an important matter regarding my 2017 Subaru. It tells me to call 1-844-763-1301 and says this is the final attempt to notify me. Then it says they reserve the right to revoke the allocated waiver after 7 days of getting the notice. There's also a toll-free number: 1-844-763-0130.
This felt off. I never signed up for anything. I don't know what this waiver is for and I don't think it's real.
