Signed my kid up for a sports team that got canceled with no refund

I got a text about signing up my child for a sports team through this nysonline site. I paid the $72.73 fee. Then later I got a message saying the team was canceled because there weren't enough players.

But the coach for my kid's team said there were plenty of players. He didn't know why it was canceled. I found out there's many other people who were told the same thing and didn't get their money back either.

After that, the company just stops responding. I tried the phone number and the email they have listed. Nothing. It feels like a scam to take the sign-up money and then cancel.
