Got a fake final notice letter pretending to be from my credit union.
It was addressed to me correctly. The letter says it's secured by Oregon Community Credit Union and to please call to verify. That's where I actually bank and have my home loan, so that got my attention. It says this is the final notice and I need to contact them immediately to verify my information. It threatens me multiple times, saying if I don't call by March 20, 2026, it may result in a lapse of coverage and they can revoke my eligibility.
It tells me to refer to "Property Code: DTM3196441." The only way to contact them is the phone number 1-888-678-5131. They list operating hours as Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 7 PM CST, closed Sundays. I thought it was interesting they use Central Time. I didn't call anyone because I'm sure this is a phishing scam. They had too many details about me to feel right.
