Website pretending to be passport renewal took my money

I was trying to renew my passport online and I found this site www.passport-assist.com. It looked like a government website, it really did. I thought I was doing everything right.

Then I changed my mind and tried to cancel. Instead of letting me cancel they pulled $111 out of my account. No way to stop it. I didn't get any service or anything.

The phone number they had was (321) 221-5210 but I don't think that's real either. Just feels like a total scam.

Paid for a passport renewal and got nothing but a letter from the government

I was looking to renew my passport so I went online and filled out everything. Put in my Social Security number, passport number, name, address, telephone number, all of it. Paid the money, it was $120, sent the application in.

Then I got a letter back from the government saying I didn’t pay any fee for a new passport. So I guess the website just took my info and my money and that was it. No passport, no help, nothing. I feel stupid for giving them all that personal stuff.
