Got a fake letter trying to scam my elderly father

I got a letter sent to my elderly father. It's from a Peter Abbott LLP, with a phone number of (450) 234-2501 and a website www.peterabbottllp.com. Their address is listed as 1600 Carling Ave #510, Ottawa, ON K1Z 0A1, CAN and an email [email protected].

The whole thing is a phishing scam. They're trying to get personal information. It's clearly fake and they're targeting older people. It made me really angry. No money was lost, but that's not the point. They shouldn't be allowed to do this.

Got a letter saying I could claim money from a stranger's estate

I got this letter in the mail that says it's from Peter Abbott LLP. The return address is 1600 Carling Ave #510, Ottawa, ON K1Z 0A1, CAN. It talks about a Mrs. Maria who passed away and left over ten million dollars unclaimed.

They said they're looking for potential claimants with the same last name as me. It just feels off. They want me to contact them through their website peterabbottllp.com or email [email protected] or call (450) 234-2501.

I never heard of this person. The whole thing doesn't make any sense to me, getting a letter about claiming a huge amount of money from a complete stranger.
