Got a call about serving legal papers for my daughter

I got a call from (541) 897-7834. The person said they couldn't serve legal documents for my daughter to appear in court. They gave me a case number and a phone number to contact an attorney named Sophia Johnson.

The whole thing felt off. They called me using my own phone number. I never signed up for anything or gave permission for this. I just got this random call out of nowhere.

Got a weird call about a summons and a court warrant

I got a call from someone saying there was an attempt to deliver a summons to my home. But they never even said my address, the one they supposedly tried to serve the papers to. Then they told me I had to call a person named Sophia Johnson to avoid having a warrant put out for failure to appear in court. The whole thing felt off. They didn't give any real details and just pressured me to call this number. I didn't call, and I didn't lose any money, but it was a stressful and strange call to get out of nowhere.

Got a call saying I was being served, had to call a court attorney

I got a call saying I was being served and needed to contact the court appointed attorney, Sophia Johnson, at 866-354-3388. They wouldn't tell me anything else, just gave me a case number.

So I called the number. The recording says their hours are west coast time. I live on the east coast, so that doesn't make any sense for a court appointed attorney.

I looked up the number online and found other people telling the same story. It's just a scam.

Got a scary voicemail about a subpoena and wrong address

I got a call and didn't answer, so they left a message. It said to call back because the address on file was wrong and a subpoena was sent but got returned. They gave a case number and said to ask for Sophia Johnson. First off, there's no reason I'd be subpoenaed for anything.

Then they called my son. He actually talked to them. They said they knew he was my son and they were trying to make sure I didn't miss my court date. But you can't get in trouble for missing a court date you never got a subpoena for. If they tried to deliver it and it was returned, that means it wasn't delivered. They have to keep trying to reach the person.

This is definitely a scam.

Got a call saying I have court papers and need to call back immediately

I just got a call from a man asking for me. He said they had court papers to serve me but I wasn't available. He gave me a name, Sophia Johnson, and said she was the attorney in charge of my case. He told me I needed to call back immediately. The number he gave was (866) 354-3388 and an address in Crawfordsville, IN.

I never got any papers and I don't know what case he's talking about. It felt off. I didn't call back.
