Got a call from Tax Help and Adjustment Office, seems like a scam

I’m a tax preparer at H&R Block. One of my clients got a phone call from the Tax Help and Adjustment Office. The number was 888-430-3601. The person left a message saying her name was Alisa and she was from that company.

My client wasn’t sure if it was real, so she told me about it. I tried to look up the company name first. Nothing came up in my search except some general ads for tax debt relief. Then I googled the phone number. It was linked to a Facebook account called The Debt Bureau.

I called the number myself. It went to a second line and an AI-generated voice, a guy named Daniel, started talking. I just hung up.

I’m submitting this so people know, especially so elderly folks don’t get tricked by them. It just doesn’t seem right.
