Sent money for a house and now they won't talk to me

I was trying to rent a house and found this place in New Egypt, NJ. The person seemed fine at first. We talked and I sent the money, $580. It was for the deposit or something like that. I thought everything was good.

Then they just stopped communicating. No replies to my texts or calls. Nothing. I don't know what happened. I never got to move in or anything. The money is just gone. I feel stupid.
