Charged $175 and gave my social security number to a fake government site

I was trying to get my birth certificate because I was at the DMV and found out I needed it for a RealID. I was really stressed about it. I thought usvitalrecords.org was a legitimate site, so I sent them all my information, including my social security number.

Now they have everything they need to steal my identity. They charged me $175.70 and tried to act like they were the state government, charging for that too. I’m dealing with fraud at my bank and had to cancel my credit card.

But the social security number is the main problem. I don’t think I’ll ever feel safe again.
