Email about $11 million from a law firm I never heard of
They said they had a payable on death sum of over $11 million from someone with my same last name and descent. Wanted me to partner up to claim the money. I didn't contact them so I don't have all the details but it felt like a phishing thing.
The website was www.vanweertllp.com and the phone number they listed was (416) 273-0889. I didn't lose any money but it was just weird.
Letter about a life insurance policy from a stranger with my last name
The letter asks for my consent to be in partnership with them to claim this policy. The amount is $11,550,300. It just feels strange. They gave a phone number (416) 273-0889 and a website www.vanweertllp.com and an address at 65 Queen St W in Toronto. The email they listed is [email protected].
I didn't lose any money but the whole thing didn't make sense. No company name on the envelope felt off.

The letter says the firm is in Canada at 65 Queen St W, Toronto, ON M5H 2M5. I looked it up and the attorney firm does exist in Canada but the email address on the letter was different. The website they put on the letter is www.vanweertllp.com.
Just feels off. No money lost but still.

Didn’t make sense to me. Never heard of this person or any policy. Felt off right away. Didn’t call or email them. Just seemed like a way to get my info or something. No money lost but still annoying getting that kind of thing in the mail.
