Booked a hotel room through a site pretending to be the Water Tower Inn

I clicked on a site that looked like the Water Tower Inn. I rented a room for two nights. They charged me in U.S. dollars and never said they weren't the actual hotel. When I asked if I was speaking with the hotel, the guy just said, "I'm in booking."

I felt trapped. I made the purchase thinking I could cancel before March 31st for a full refund. This guy bamboozled me. I was cornered into accepting his offer, which was still nearly double what the real Water Tower Inn would have charged.

I called the Water Tower Inn and they said it was a third party. I told them I never agreed to that. They said I had to contact the booking site. Now I'm reporting them for being sneaky. They told me to get a full refund it would need to be "escalated," and that could take days or weeks.
