Called what I thought was Alamo, paid for a car rental return to a scam site.

I was looking for Alamo Car Rental customer service, so I did a Google search. An 800 number came up and I called it. I asked the agent straight out if this was Alamo Car Rental, and he said yes. I believed him.

I went ahead and made the payment for my car rental return through them. It was $177.82. I didn't realize it wasn't really Alamo until after the money was gone. The site was WHB-CAR-RENTAL and they list an address in DE, USA. I feel completely misled. I called who I thought was the company and they lied to me.
