Got a fake job offer email asking for my bank details

I got an email about a job that looked just like one I applied for on social media. They wanted to do an interview, but then said they were in a hurry to hire and could just use a survey instead.

They sent me an offer letter that looked real. Then they said I had to buy my own laptop and stuff for the job, and they'd send me a check for it. They started asking for my bank information and my full name.

No real job has ever asked me to buy my own equipment. It felt wrong, so I stopped talking to them. The email came from [email protected].

Got a fake job offer for transcription work, they wanted my license and sent a check

I got approached about a job as a Transcriptionist paying $50 an hour. There was no interview, just a questionnaire to fill out. They sent a job offer that looked totally legitimate, nothing weird in the wording, but you had to sign it and send a photo of your driver's license.

After that, they mailed a check to buy the equipment for the job. I started having a lot of bad feelings about the whole thing and ended up backing out before anything happened. I took the check to my bank and they put a long hold on the deposit. The banker told me that was a red flag and the check will most likely bounce.
